CCHD Annual Review 2016
A message from the Office of Human Dignity & Solidarity
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) began in 1969 here in the Archdiocese of Chicago as a response to the systemic injustice that low-income communities were facing. Now 47 years later, CCHD has continued to invest millions of dollars into organizations in Chicago and the United States that are committed to robust community and economic development. CCHD embodies Catholic Social Teaching in action and it is a great honor to financially support over $630,000 in grants this year to organizations throughout Cook and Lake County supporting immigration, workers’ rights, disability rights, restorative justice and many other important social issues of our time.
