The Mission of the Office for Peace and Justice is to engage Catholics in actively living out Catholic Social Teaching in order to create radical social change in the greater community.
The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) is the official anti-poverty program of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops that works through community-controlled self-help organizations to eradicate poverty and help educate Catholics about the conditions and causes of poverty.
Justice Education involves educating Chicago Catholics to become actively engaged with Catholic Social Teaching as an essential element of our faith. Justice Education includes two primary programs: Organizing Catholics for Justice and JustFaith. Justice Education is also woven into every aspect of the Office for Peace and Justice's programs.
